Saskatchewan: People, Theatre and Pandemic 1918/2021

Join us for the opening night of Kevin Kerr’s Unity (1918), our 75th anniversary production directed by alumni, Skye Brandon. We dedicate this production to drama department members, past, present, and to come; and to those in Saskatchewan who faced a global pandemic in 1918 with courage, resilience and resourcefulness – and those who have repeated that extraordinary feat a century later in 2020-21. We salute you all. In preparation for our first performance of the play, please join us for our pre-show discussion with the director of Unity (1918) and History and Theatre scholars as we explore the interconnection, similarities and differences between the human, cultural and artistic response to the Spanish Influenza in 1918, - and to COVID-19 in 2020-21.
