What is a BioBlitz?A BioBlitz is a community science event where we record as many plant and animal species in a specific area, during a specific window of time.Event DetailsLet's meet outside the Kingsdale Community Centre at 10 a.m.!We will be surveying the biodiversity in the newly restored Montgomery Creek in Wilson Park using species ID fact sheets and apps like iNaturalist.Participants will move at a self-led pace and use their own knowledge to identify and record species they find. Or they can follow a guided tour with Reep! All ages are welcome to participate.What to bring:<ul><li>A cellphone to access the iNaturalist app to gather data</li><li>Sunscreen, bug spray</li><li>Water to stay hydrated</li></ul>We will be near the water so make sure to wear appropriate attire such as:<ul><li>A hat,</li><li>A loose and breathable shirt,</li><li>Long pants,</li><li>Close-toed shoes</li></ul>Let's find out what species have returned to the area since the creek was naturalized as a part of Kitchener's effort to improve water quality and reduce flood risk!
