Resin behavior during processing: What are the key resin properties to consider when developing a manufacturing process?

<p>During manufacturing the resin undergoes significant transformations: thermoset resins evolve from a low molecular weight liquid to a highly cross-linked solid. A thorough understanding of this liquid-to-solid transition is critical when developing, optimizing or troubleshooting a manufacturing process. For example, the impregnation and consolidation of the fiber bed must be completed before the resin transforms from a viscous liquid to a rubbery gel, and demolding must happen when the resin reaches a glassy solid state. This webinar will discuss the key manufacturing properties of thermoset resins such as viscosity, gelation, glass transition temperature, and degree of cure.
