YWITT is a community-led non-profit society based in Whitehorse, Yukon on the territory of the self-governing Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwatch’an Council.Since its incorporation in August 2000, YWITT has been working as a feminist, community non-profit organization based in Whitehorse, Yukon to advance equity in trades and technology careers, while working alongside community partners to run programs and initiatives.This includes experiential workshops, advocacy support, community-led research and policy work to facilitate awareness, education and action toward equity and inclusion in the trades and technology sectors.

YWITT presents: Queer Shop Time in Dawson CityA workshop for Two-Spirit, Queer, trans, and gender non-conforming folks who are 19+ to gather and share knowledge. All experience levels are welcome.Your instructors, Julaine and Robyn, will support you in using power tools to build your own wooden end table.All tools, supplies, PPE will be provided. Please wear closed toe shoes, leave jewllery at home, and tie long hair back. A number of tickets are held for People of Global Majority (a collective term referring to people who are Black, Brown, Asian, Bi-racial, Indigenous, for info about this term, click<a href="https://ilpa.org.uk/people-of-the-global-majority/" title="https://ilpa.org.uk/people-of-the-global-majority/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> here</a>). These tickets are always offered for free.YWITT is dedicated to providing financially accessibile learning opportunities for community members who traditionally experience barriers to trades skills. This program is offered by donation, and any money that is earned will go directly back into the continuation of T4T Shop Time and programs like it. Feel free to pay $0 up to any amount you see fit.
