CESBA is a provincial non-profit association that represents, advocates for and supports adult and continuing education (A&CE) program staff working in school boards across Ontario.In addition to advocacy and professional development opportunities, we support and build capacity for professionals working in the A&CE sector through information, tools, resources and community partnerships.Our members provide programs to over 300,000 adult learners in Ontario every year. Sheliza Jamal, founder of Curated Leadership, presents a workshop on the impacts of bias on learning.

This event is primarily for CESBA members - those working in adult and continuing education through Ontario Boards of Education or their affiliates. Please use your work email to register.In this workshop, participants will identify how personal and structural biases impact learning. Participants will build on a shared understanding of key terms including institutional racism, oppression, anti-oppression, equity, equality, power, privilege, and unconscious bias. Participants will come away with tools to help identify bias in personal and professional settings as well as strategies to deconstruct bias to model inclusion.The link to this Zoom meeting will be shared with all registrants 24 hours and 1 hour prior to this event.
