Is the venue accessible?

The Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre is accessible to people using wheelchairs and mobility devices. Attendees who park elsewhere or use transit, please note that Cogswell St has a significant slope.

Is there parking?

There is no dedicated parking for MNFC, but there are many on-street & for-pay parking sites in the nearby area, including accessible spots at the Brunswick Place parkade. Attendees can review downtown Halifax parking options prior to the day of the event: https://downtownhalifax.ca/parking

What about transit?

There are bus stops nearby at Gottingen, Cogswell and Barrington; the venue is uphill from the Scotia Square transit terminal.

Question 4

I'm not registered with NSCSW; can I still attend?

Accepted Answer

No. Only current members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers are able to register for this miniconference.  However, some of the information shared and generated during the day will be developed by NSCSW into online learning opportunities in 2026.

Question 5

I'm a social work student, but not a member yet. How do I join?
