EDIDA Awareness Month 2025

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Decolonization, and Accessibility (EDIDA) Awareness Month 2025 is a bold, collaborative initiative hosted in collaboration with community partners. The theme for 2025 is I.M.P.A.C.T.: Mobilizing Equity for Sustainable Change.

Location: Virtual Webinar on ZoomWestern University is committed to creating a campus where accessibility is not just a requirement, but a shared value. Join Emily Branov, Student Experience Project Manager (Accessibility) and Accessible at Western Working Group (AWWG) Committee Chair, as she highlights how Western can proactively implement the post-secondary education (PSE) recommendations from the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) to remove barriers, foster inclusion and ensure equitable access for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. Participants will learn about Western’s strategic initiatives, collaborative approaches and measurable outcomes, as well as the challenges and opportunities that arise beyond compliance. Reviewing the results of our committee discussions, the session will explore how accessibility can be embedded into every aspect of university life at Western, helping us create an environment where everyone can thrive.The webinar link will be emailed to registrants ahead of the session.
