Helping people make connections is our passion. People who have strong connections to others have improved health, and communities where people are connected are healthier places to live. We provide training, information and resources for strengthening peer support groups and peer-led initiatives throughout British Columbia. We work with many diverse groups and communities including First Nations, rural, urban, multicultural, youth and online. PeerNetBC is a non-profit, registered charitable organization.Our work takes place on the unceded homelands of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

Summer Community Standard Series 2021Curious about peer-led organizing and expanding your understanding of what facilitation means? Join us for 3 interactive virtual workshops in July. Each workshop is designed to work in tandem with the other, but there are no prerequisites.Our facilitation work is grounded in our values of anti-oppression and we use this approach in all our workshops. If you are new to PeerNet BC workshops, we strongly suggest taking the Anti-Oppression workshop to understand the value of using this framework. We consider this workshop to be foundational!About the Intro to Queering Facilitation WorkshopThis workshop will invite and centre 2 Spirit, Gender and Sexually Diverse folks. Folks who are in allyship with queer, 2 Spirit and gender diverse people are welcome. Join us as we build on the skills needed to facilitate groups that can expand beyond gender binaries and roles! Through experiential activities, discussion, and dialog, we will share experiences and learn from each other. We hope to learn on how facilitators embody intersectional queerness, along with other different identities, when facilitating in groups. All Workshops Available<ol><li>Anti Oppression, July 13, 5: 30pm - 8:00 pm.</li><li>Intro to Peer Support, July 16, 9:30am - 12:00pm</li><li>Queering Facilitation, July 24, 10:00am-12:30pm</li></ol>

Registration FeesA non-refundable $5 reservation fee is required for all registrants, per workshop, to secure your seat. The price for our workshops is an additional suggested donation of $15 to $75 dollars. Please identify a price that suits your financial situation. Financial barriers should not get in the way of your participation! If you have any barriers, financial or technical, please e-mail: info@peernetbc.com so we can help you directly. We want to see you there, so please reach out. Please let us know if you will need an invoice for your registration.

Zoom Details — Intro to Peer Support WorkshopYou will be sent Zoom details in your email confirmation. Please look out for your email!

Accessibility &amp; Access Needs<ol><li>These sessions will be 2.5 hrs long with several short breaks. You are welcome to keep your camera on or off; however some activities might be more visual.</li><li>We will provide Zoom automated closed captioning. </li><li>You’re welcome to join virtually by phone, computer/device. However, when you’re registering please let us know which device you’ll be joining on so that we can accommodate your needs.</li><li>ASL interpretation is available for our workshops. Please let us know if you will need interpreters for your sessions.
