Have you ever been curious about the plants that surround you during a hike? Can you touch them? Can you eat them? Join us for a self-guided walk with forager Bryan Dowkes in Scugog, Port Perry. Participants will also be able to taste these seasonal foods with samples made by chef Tamara Green of Indigenesis, a personal chef company that focuses only on pre-contact Indigenous ingredients from the Great Lakes region. Mohawk chef Tamara Green of Indigenesis walks us through responsible foraging practices with two cooking videos entitled, “Pruning Nature.” For the Ontario Culture Days festival, she will host a guided walk with forager Bryan Dowkes. Participants will also be able to sample pre-made food made by Tamara using foraged ingredients at the program.
