His music radiates an unmistakable French clarity—at once noble and deeply expressive.Georgy Catoire, often called the “Russian Fauré,” was a Moscow-based composer whose works are still rarely performed. A student of Tchaikovsky’s circle and admirer of French Impressionism, Catoire infused his violin sonatas with both Slavic passion and French-influenced sophistication.
