Building champions in and through theatreCentre Stage Theatre Schoolwas founded by long-time drama and music educator Helen Zdriluk. The school is based on its founder’s belief that quality theatre programs produce champions both on and off the stage, that strong theatre programs are able to seamlessly integrate all the arts, that theatre skills mirror life skills, and that we all learn best when we’re engaged and having fun!Centre Stage offers a wide range of drama, music theatre, vocal music, and on-camera classes, in order to provide quality programs for a wide range of students, interests and circumstances. Classes based on age group and performance discipline allow us to focus on individual and specific development for everyone from enthusiastic beginners to serious seasoned performers. Extensive and varied performance experiences, opportunities for competition at festivals and for speech exams for those who wish it, our student-centred choice of material, and opportunities for volunteering, technical and production work, allow for student choice and ensure an individualized and unique experience for all students. Centre Stage also offers private singing and acting classes, as well as specialty workshops in a variety of areas.

SHOW CHOIR - Open (at least 7 years old)Tuesdays 4:45-5:45 p.m. September 9, 2025-May 26, 2026$82.50 + HST per monthExplore the world of show choir, and combine singing and dance classes into one activity! Perform songs from contemporary pop, movies and Broadway musicals, together with engaging choreography. Perform at the CENTRE STAGE Studio Theatre in our SHOW CHOIR MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION in spring 2026!Students will learn show choir techniques, including harmony, ear training, artistic expression, stage presence, and vocal and dance skills. They will build and extend their vocal range, learn different dance styles with the main focus on Broadway and pop, and integrate choreography without compromising healthy vocal technique. Through work as solo, small group, and ensemble performers in both song and dance, students will perform popular and musical theatre repertoire in a creative and collaborative environment.Although no previous training is required for Centre Stage Show Choir, beginning students will be expected to match pitch, sing with a quality of tone, and follow and retain basic dance instructions. To that end, our program is divided into 9 equal monthly payments. You will be asked to pay for the first month on registration, and then e-transfer us the monthly fee at the beginning of each subsequent month (October 2025-May 2026). Alternatively, if you'd prefer, you can bring in post dated cheques dated for the beginning of each month (October 2025-May 2026).
