What happens at a  THP Hangouts?

Short intro, a  creative activity, a playful movement activity, and unstructured time to connect. Themes vary based on what we're seeing in 1-1 sessions as well as group input (e.g., friendships, boundaries, confidence).

Do teens need skills or supplies?

Nope no skills, no supplies, no pressure. Just come as you are.

Question 4

Is this therapy or a clinical group?

Accepted Answer

No. THP Hangouts are community meetups focused on connection, creativity, and movement. They’re not a substitute for individual therapy. If your teen needs clinical support, we’re happy to share resources.

Question 5

Who runs the Hangouts?

Led by a trained facilitator (registered psychologist & kinesiologist) with experience working safely with teens.

Question 6

Are the Hangouts supervised and safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes sessions are supervised and run with clear safety and confidentiality guidelines. If any serious concerns arise, we will contact parents.

Can parents stay?

Parents are welcome to wait nearby (Social Grounds Oakridge is right at the meeting spot). We ask that teens have space to connect with peers during the session.

Do I need to register?

Yes, we are keeping the groups smaller to ensure real opportunities to connect . Please register by emailing chantal@pyramidpsychology.com to save your spot.

Is there a cost?

At this time THP Hangouts are free. Ticket price (if any) is listed on the Eventbrite page please check there for current pricing and to register.

What should teens bring?

Layers for changing weather, a water bottle, and themselves. We provide all activity materials.

What if the weather is bad?

We’ll meet in one of the Social Grounds spaces.

Can teens bring friends?

Absolutely, bring a friend! We love seeing new faces and watching connections form.

My teen is shy,  is that okay?

Accepted Answer

Totally okay. Activities are low-pressure and optional, many teens start quietly and leave having made a connection.

Accessibility / health needs / allergies

Let us know via email, chantal@pyramidpsychology.com if your teen has needs accommodations or has allergies. We will do our best to accomodate and if it is not possible will inform you ahead of time.

What if my teen needs mental health support during the session?

Facilitators can offer grounding support and will contact you if needed. We can also make recommendations for further support as needed.

Can teens help choose future themes?

Accepted Answer

Yes the group is encouraged to shape future Hangouts so sessions stay relevant and fun.
