The mission of the SMWS is to be effective and conscientious stewards of the S’amunu Watershed, by preserving, restoring, and renewing the S’amunu (Somenos) Watershed eco-system through community volunteerism, education, and liaison with various like-minded groups.

<p>Join the Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society as we lead a leisurely BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat) 4-hour circumnavigation of Somenos Lake. The tour will involve speakers aboard the HMCS Somenos who will present information about the environment, nature, and history of the S’amunu watershed. The tour will also include a visit to Somenos Creek, an invasive plant hotspot, currently occupied over 80% of its length by the Amazonian plant, Parrots Feather. Dress for the weather and bring snacks, water and your binoculars or long lens cameras. Kayaks, canoes, and electric motors are welcome.</p>
