What time does the MEC Gear Swap take place?

Accepted Answer

The MEC Gear Swap will be open from 10am - 2pm (or until supplies lasts).

Question 2

What happens if I rent a table and can no longer attend?

Accepted Answer

Please note that your table registration fee will be donated to the local Alpine Club of Canada Section on your behalf. As a result, there will be no refunds allowed.

Question 3

Can MEC sell my gear for me?

Accepted Answer

You are responsible for selling your own gear and must be present at your table for the duration of the event. If you would like to donate your gently used outdoor gear, you can do so at MEC Ottawa before October 1, 2025 - the sales from these donated items will go to the local ACC Section.

Question 4

What happens if the weather is bad?

Accepted Answer

The MEC Gear Swap will happen outside of the store, rain or shine. Please dress according to the weather and come prepared to spend the day outside.

When can I set up my table?

Accepted Answer

Check-in and get your table ready up to 45 minutes before the event starts.
