Validation Matters Month! - Family Support - Lunch and Learn
Overview
Family Support for Emotionally Sensitive Loved Ones - Lunch and Learn 4 session themed monthly program
Description:
Caring for a loved one with emotional sensitivities or Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can be overwhelming. This 4-session weekly program is part of a series with a different theme each month, designed to equip families with practical communication tools and emotional coping strategies, using principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Over the course of the series, participants will learn about healthy boundary setting, coping with the challenges of living with someone with BPD, managing your own emotions when a loved one struggles, and much much more.
During the month of December, we will focus on why validation matters when supporting someone with BPD. We will teach participants why listening and understanding are more helpful than rushing to solutions, and how validation lowers conflict.
Program Highlights:
- Learn how to communicate effectively with a loved one experiencing emotion dysregulation.
- Build skills to manage personal distress in difficult situations.
- Gain support from peers who understand the unique challenges of caring for someone with BPD/emotional sensitivities.
