Special Vestry Meeting

St. James Cathedral is home to a diverse, vibrant congregation from around the St. Lawrence neighbourhood and across the city. The Cathedral is not only a place of prayer, but a place of care and community, expressed through volunteer-run services such as the weekly Drop-In, the Refugee Response Committee, and the Lay Pastoral visitors. The Cathedral seeks to live out God’s love byengaging the ministry of the baptized, forming leaders, acting with justice and serving the needs of the most vulnerable in society.

St. James Cathedral Special Vestry Meeting on Zoom

Please note that Registration to attend Special Vestry will close on Friday, August 27 at 2:00pm.

Pursuant to Canon 14 (12.4) a Special Vestry Meeting of St. James Cathedral Church is hereby called for Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 1:30pm to take place on Zoom. The purpose of this meeting is to approve proceeding with the Cemetery Retort Project. Vestry will be asked for final approval for the replacement of the two retorts at St. James Cemetery and Crematorium.In accordance with the Canon on Vestries of the Diocese of Toronto, persons sixteen years of age and over who have been members of and worshippers with this congregation for at least three months, prior to the meeting of the Vestry, and have not voted as a member of any other Vestry during the previous three months, nor intend on voting in any other Vestry during the ensuing year, are parish members. By registering to attend this meeting, you declare this to be true.
