What is a sound bath?

It is a cozy concert. You listen to live music laying down with pillows and blankets. You can meditate. You can fall asleep. You may feel emotions.

Why do you call it a sound bath?

Accepted Answer

There is no bath tub or water involved in a sound bath. You are being "bathed" with soft, healing live music.

Question 3

What is the benefit of a Sound Healing Journey?

Accepted Answer

Deep physical and mental relaxation or passive attention. It is like meditating but without having to try to meditate.

Question 4

Is there a difference between a sound bath, sound healing and Sound Journey?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no difference but often times people play single instruments like only gongs or only song bowls. We play many instruments which is why we call it a journey.

Question 5

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

A yoga mat, 2 blankets, 1 pillow for your head, 1 pillow for your knees, favourite eye mask, water bottle, loose fitting comfortable clothing and socks.

Can I sit in a chair?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  If you prefer to sit in a chair rather than lay down please BRING YOUR OWN comfortable chair like a camping chair or lawn chair. We do not have chairs available. We recommend laying down but understand people may be more comfortable sitting.

Is the building accessible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. 513 Westney has a ramp to the door. The healing area is 1 level. There are no steps.

Question 8

What if I am late for the Sound Healing Journey?

Accepted Answer

Please arrive at 7:15pm . We will begin to have people lay down at 7:45pm. We cannot accommodate late comers after 7:50pm.

What's so special about Sound Healing and Sound Baths?

Accepted Answer

Sound Healing and Sound Baths are ancient medicines.  The didgeridoo, the West African djembe, the framed drum, Tibetan tingsha, the Himalayan singing bowls are 1000s of years old.

Question 10

What healing can happen during a Sound Healing or Sound Bath?

Accepted Answer

We are not doctors.  In our own personal experience Sound Healing is the easiest way to meditate without trying or thinking.  Meditation will calm your mind, reduce stress and anxiety, improve your mood, help your sleep and may lower your blood pressure.
