Why do social workers in Nova Scotia need to become familiar with the new COE & SOP?

As part of the registration process, all social workers practicing in NS must confirm that they have read and agree to practice in compliance with the NS Social Workers Act, Regulations, Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. They must review the changes before completing annual renewal for 2026.
