In celebration of World Soil Day (December 5) — a global day to recognize the vital role of healthy soil in sustaining life, food security, and ecosystems — this talk explores soil as a dynamic, adaptive living system: a microcosm of the larger ecosystems we depend on. We’ll examine how modern farming practices lag behind our growing understanding of cooperative, interconnected soil ecologies, and how organic, systems-based approaches can help realign agriculture with the living world beneath our feet.
