Afternoon of Service - Hot Cocoa & Human Library Social

The Experiential Education Department at UPEI helps students build bridges between their university learning and the world of work. Our office offers numerous free workshops and events to help UPEI students develop a range of personal and professional skills. We also support students through coordinating experiential learning opportunities, enabling students to apply what they are learning in the classroom in real world contexts while expanding their growth.

The Mount Continuing Care Community

Join us for a volunteer opportunity with The Mount Continuing Care Community. The Mount Continuing Care Community is a wonderful place that provides quality care and support for seniors. They are all about creating a warm and friendly environment for their residents and guests.During this event, students and residents will gather for:

Hot Cocoa & Treats: Enjoy a cozy snack while you give back.

"Fast Friends" Conversations: A fun, fast-paced way to connect! You’ll rotate every few minutes to chat with different residents, sharing stories and learning about their unique life experiences.

Meaningful Impact: Help bridge the gap between generations and brighten a senior's day while building your own community connections.

The Mount is located very close to UPEI at 141 Mount Edward Road. There is a trail that connects the UPEI Campus and the Mount. For this event, we will meet on campus and walk as a group to the Mount. All participants are asked to meet at the Career Studio, room 209 Dalton Hall on campus, at 1:10 p.m.This event is free, and The Mount will provide all the necessary supplies.Don’t miss out on this fun and meaningful event!Register by Thursday, January 29th at noon.If you have any questions, please contact Community and Industry Outreach Coordinator Jess Cameron at jecameron@upei.ca
