BLS Renewal Course -  2026

Health Canada describes interprofessional education as learning together to promote collaboration. Academics and Interprofessional Education (IPE) are education leaders who work in collaboration with all health care professionals to learn with and from all health disciplines to improve patient care at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) under the Patient Family Centered Care Model.At TBRHSC we strive to provide an interprofessional approach to all education we deliver.

Interprofessional Education

The course is for healthcare providers who have BLS previously and require limited practice to be successful.

<h3>PRE-REQUISITIES:</h3><ul><li>Active BCLS certification received by Heart &amp; Stroke (within 1 year)</li></ul><ul><li>If you have an expired Heart &amp; Stroke BLS certification, you are able to take the BLS Pre-Requisite Challenge. Proof of current certification and the pre-requisite challenge certificate need to be submitted prior: <a href="https://cpr.heartandstroke.ca/s/article/BLS-Provider-Renewal-Prerequisite-Challenge" title="https://cpr.heartandstroke.ca/s/article/BLS-Provider-Renewal-Prerequisite-Challenge" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://cpr.heartandstroke.ca/s/article/BLS-Provider-Renewal-Prerequisite-Challenge</a></li></ul> This fast-paced renewal course is designed for the experienced BLS provider (those who are confident in their BLS skills through regular use in their work in the ED, CCU, ICU on code team, or paramedics and first responders) who can demonstrate knowledge through written and skills assessment in a concentrated program.Cancellation Policy:If you wish to cancel before 2 weeks of the course you will be reimbursed but charged a $2.79 due to Eventbrite charging to remove you off the registration list. If you wish to transfer to another course date please let IPE Admins know at TBRHSC.CertificateCourse@tbh.net.If your cancellation is received less than 2 weeks prior to the course start date, 50% of the course feel will be charged to your credit card.You may also request a one-time transfer to a later course (if space available).
