Intro to AI: Fundamental Concepts
Overview
Curious about Artificial Intelligence but not sure how it fits into your business? This free one-hour workshop that’s in partnership with WeBC introduces AI in clear, non-technical language and shows how it can be used to save time, reduce costs, and stay competitive.
Women-owned businesses currently adopt AI at lower rates than their peers, often due to access barriers, so this session is designed to close that gap and help you make informed, low-risk decisions about when and how to use AI in your work.
You’ll explore what AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Generative AI are, where they show up in everyday tools you already use, and what they can and cannot do for a small business. Through live demos with free, browser-based tools, you’ll see concrete examples like generating marketing ideas, summarizing information, and drafting simple copy, along with tips for spotting AI “hallucinations” and protecting your data. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of AI’s potential and limitations, plus a curated “next steps” list of free tools and resources tailored to solo and small-team entrepreneurs.<
This is a free event to the public and is also included as part of Career Collective membership.
This program is funded by the Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy.
