Safeguarding Science Scenario Based Workshop: Sensitive Dual-Use Research
Better understand if research is considered dual-use and how to properly mitigate the risks in this workshop from Public Safety Canada
The scenario-based exercise allows participants to apply knowledge from the Safeguarding Science session and collaboratively address research security challenges. Starting with a high-level hypothetical scenario, the moderator introduces increasing complexity to simulate real-world due diligence. At each stage, participants reassess risks and explore mitigation strategies. The session ends with a summary of key insights and takeaways. Participants will also receive an overview of Lakehead’s Research Security measures and the support tools available to faculty and staff.
Please Note:
1) The session is not for attribution, and therefore recordings or AI note taker or other AI features are not permitted.
2) Please register for the event by February 20th to secure your spot.
3) Please make sure you are familiar with Safeguarding Science Module 1 before this workshop. If you have not attended this webinar or in-person workshop, please contact Andrew (security.research@lakeheadu.ca) to get you up to speed on the content.
