To provide a true "Boreal" experience, we use a rotation of scenic wilderness sites and private campgrounds along the Niagara Escarpment. To ensure privacy and the best learning environment, the exact location is kept exclusive to attendees. You will receive a precise Google Maps pin-drop and arriva

Do I need to own any camping gear to attend?

Accepted Answer

Nope! We provide all the specialized demonstration gear (tents, stoves, etc.) for you to practice with. However, if you have already purchased gear and want to learn how to use it, bring it! We love helping people master their own "home away from home."

How does the guest discount work?

Accepted Answer

Camping is better with a partner. If you buy one full-price ticket, your second guest is 50% off. For a group of four, select the "Family Pack" ticket at checkout to unlock our best rate ($320 total).

What if it rains?

Accepted Answer

We follow the Boreal spirit: there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear! We run rain or shine. Rain actually provides the perfect "real-world" scenario to practice setting up shelters and keeping your gear dry. If the weather is truly dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.

Is this course for kids?

This session is designed for participants aged 13 and up. It focuses on the technical skills and safety knowledge required for adults to lead a trip. Future sessions specifically for younger children are in the works—stay tuned!

What is the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Because we maintain small-group ratios and pre-order supplies, we have a no-refund policy within 14 days of the course date. If you can't make it, your ticket is fully transferable—feel free to gift your spot to a friend who needs the skills!

Will we be eating a full meal?

Accepted Answer

We provide hot chocolate, tea, and cookies as part of our stove-lighting demonstration. While it's not a full dinner, you'll leave with sample menus and the skills to cook your own 5-star camp feast on your first real trip.
