Healing in a Digital World

Healing in a Digital World

Victoria City HallVictoria, BC
Saturday, Mar 21 from 2 pm to 3 pm
Overview

Join CREAN as we explore what it means to engage AI ethically in counselling, wellness and community care.

As AI tools become part of everyday life, they’re also showing up in mental health and wellness spaces. This panel explores what it means to engage AI ethically in counselling, wellness and community care, especially in light of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors’ AI and Clinical Practice Guidelines. We’ll ask:

Can technology support healing or does it sometimes get in the way? This panel explores how AI is being used in mental health and community care, and what we lose (and gain) when support shifts from human-centred programming to automated tools. Panelists will discuss how to use AI in ways that protect privacy, consent, and safety, and why healing still requires real connection and community.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and a free hot lunch is available with veg/vegan options.
