With the rise of misinformation and disinformation, as well as Generative AI, equipping ourselves and our community with digital literacy skills is crucial for engaging with online content and promoting. Develop digital literacy skills for navigating online content in an era of misinformation and disinformation, as well as democratic participation. Build digital literacy skills for navigating online content in an era of mis/disinformation and generative AI.Facilitated by Melissa Chan, this hour-long interactive workshop will support participants with:<ul><li>Understanding how online content is used to influence democracy and election results</li><li>Practice identifying credible resources online</li><li>Provide a resource for educators to use in classrooms to engage students in elections and democratic processes</li></ul>Melissa Chan is an Ontario Certified Teacher based in Markham and a Regional Education Coordinator at Elections Canada. At ALPHA Education, she developed and facilitated anti-racism.This workshop was made possible by <a href="https://ccncsj.ca/" title="https://ccncsj.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CCNC-S</a>J and <a href="https://www.acenetedu.ca/" title="https://www.acenetedu.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ACENet</a>, with support from the Government of Canada.
