Do my parents need to attend with me?

No. This workshop is created for adult children and caregivers. Many attendees choose to participate on their own first and then share key insights or tools with their parents later. I would recommend inviting your parents as I can introduce these tough conversations for families who are hesitant.

Who is this workshop series for?

This series is designed for adults who are supporting aging parents while also working, raising children, or other family responsibilities. It’s especially helpful if you’re starting to notice changes in your parents’ health, independence, or decision-making.

Do I need any prior knowledge or experience?

No prior knowledge is required. Concepts are explained clearly and in everyday language. This series is designed to be accessible, supportive, and practical.

I’m not in a crisis yet - is this still relevant to me?

Yes. In fact, this series is most helpful before a crisis. Planning early reduces stress, family conflict, and rushed decision-making when health or aging issues arise unexpectedly. I use the example - if your house was burning down, would want a fire extinguisher ready?

This workshop is educational in nature. It provides general information to help you understand healthcare decision-making, advance care planning and caregiving considerations. It does not replace individualized legal or medical advice. Participants are encouraged to consult appropriate professional.

Yes. If you purchase a General Admission ticket with replay, I will send out the recording after. This is helpful if you can’t attend live or want to revisit the material.

I am not a lawyer and will not be providing any legal advice. I always recommend people talk to a legal professional. However, as a nurse, I have worked with many people who suddenly find themselves in the POA role. I will be educating what this role entails from the nursing and care lens.
