The Council for Advancement of African Canadians in Alberta (CAAC), operating as Africa Centre, was incorporated in 2006. We are the largest pan African non-profit organization in western Canada, serving as a community hub that provides programs and services from a place of cultural awareness and competency to the families in our diverse community.We acknowledge the diversity of our cultural background as a source of the strength that brings capacity and competencies to shape a thriving community in Alberta. Empowering Black Youth through healing, culture and community.

Join us for a dynamic online conference designed to uplift, educate, and empower Black youth through mental wellness, culture, and community. Strengthening the Mind: Empowering Black Youth Through Healing, Culture &amp; Community is a youth-centered virtual gathering that creates a safe, affirming space to explore mental health, build resilience, and strengthen connections.This interactive conference will feature:<ul><li>Workshops</li><li>Panel discussions</li><li>Breakout sessions</li><li>Creative healing activities</li><li>Powerful keynote focused on culturally informed mental health</li></ul>Participants will gain practical coping skills for managing stress and anxiety, engage in honest conversations about lived experiences, and learn how cultural identity and community can support healing and well-being.Youth will also be connected to mental health resources, peer support opportunities, and next steps for continued engagement beyond the event. Who Should Attend: Youth who identify as African, Caribbean and Black, aged 15–30 who are interested in mental wellness, personal growth, community connection, and culturally relevant healing practices.
