Leaders today are being asked to do so much with so little, while the needs of our mandates, our staff, and the communities we serve are all increasingly diverse and complex. Leaders are also expected to lead differently: to engage more, to foster harmonious workplaces, to address conflicts, to be accountable to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) commitments, to be responsive when harm is caused.Sometimes it can feel like there are few spaces to explore and build our inclusive leadership without judgment or right-wrong thinking. And with power and privilege at play in workplaces and training sessions, especially for white leaders, we are scared to do and say, in case we do and say the wrong thing. But we are in a critical moment of growing resistance and political backlash, when trusting relationships, inclusive cultures, and equitable policies in our workplaces and communities are needed more than ever.Through dialogue and exploration of practical frameworks, real case studies, and facilitated reflection, our participants will strengthen their comfort, confidence, and ability to lead teams where people feel safe, valued, and included, and leave with concrete actions they can apply immediately.This spring, we have three offerings to choose from:<ol><li>Inclusive Leadership Masterclass (Cohort for everyone) | postponed until further notice</li><li>Inclusive Leadership Masterclass (Cohort for white leaders*) | Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14, 2026, 9:30 am to 4 pm</li></ol>*There are few spaces designed specifically for self-identified white leaders to ask difficult questions, examine their own racial identity, privilege, and the context of “whiteness” in the workplace, and build the skills needed to lead with integrity and care. Who can I contact?</li></ul>-<h4>Why are we offering a cohort for white leaders?</h4>In our experience delivering training to thousands of participants over the years, we have noticed and heard many things: that there are misconceptions around EDI; that EDI language is feeling inaccessible; that <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/teresahopke/2022/03/30/white-men-are-feeling-left-out-of-dei-diversity-equity--inclusion-why-should-we-care-and-what-should-we-do/" title="https://www.forbes.com/sites/teresahopke/2022/03/30/white-men-are-feeling-left-out-of-dei-diversity-equity--inclusion-why-should-we-care-and-what-should-we-do/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">White people are feeling left out</a>; that balancing participant learning, responses, and questions is tricky between those with and without lived experiences; that defensiveness, guilt, and fear in saying the wrong thing or harming other participants can often be present and limit learning; that a white cohort could be more helpful.Like Indigenous and equity-deserving communities, we recognize that white people and leaders are not a monolith. We also know they hold some privileged advantages and more positions of leadership and power. We also believe they are critical allies in advancing change. <h4>What kind of learning space can we expect?</h4>RADIUS brings both institutional knowledge and lived experience to this work and approaches it with deep empathy, recognizing that equity is not a destination but an ongoing process of learning and unlearning. We know that everyone is at different points of understanding, experiencing, and leading practices of inclusion and belonging - and we welcome and will meet people where they are, inviting curiosity, bravery, and collective growth.We intentionally create learning spaces that are safer, strengths-based, and rooted in practical application. We try to avoid EDI jargon to ensure conversations remain accessible and applicable. We know that we need time and space to explore and address various understandings and applications, rather than shutting down these important conversations. We do not aim for perfection, but rather for progress, accountability, and reflection. <h4>What kind of leaders would be suitable for this space?</h4>Leaders - formal and informal, current and aspiring - who identify themselves as white are encouraged to join us. Day 1

Day 1 focuses on building awareness and understanding on how everyday workplace norms, decisions, and behaviours are shaped by the systems that socialized and educated us, and that we continue to operate and lead within. Many leaders are familiar with EDI concepts, but haven’t had the space to slow down and examine how power, privilege, and dominant norms actually show up in society, in their workplace, and their own leadership practice. Day 1 is about building that awareness and deepening that analysis. Together, we explore how exclusion is often unintentional - embedded in things like hiring criteria, communication styles, performance expectations, and ideas of “professionalism” or “fit.” Using real workplace examples, reflection, and practical frameworks, participants begin to notice patterns they may not have seen before and understand why good intentions don’t always lead to equitable outcomes.

Day 1: Growing our leadership lens

Day 2

On Day 2, we move from awareness to practice. Grounded in examples from RADIUS’ leadership journey and organizational case studies from our consulting work, we explore inclusive leadership in action -in everyday decisions, relationships, and moments of accountability - especially when things feel hard, uncomfortable, or uncertain. Many leaders understand equity in principle, but struggle when it becomes personal, relational, or structural: a difficult conversation, feedback that doesn’t land as intended, conflict within a team, decisions that affect people differently, or embedding equity in a policy or process. Rather than focusing on perfection, Day 2 will explore the comfort and skills for building trusting relationships, conflict engagement, balancing openness from defensiveness, accountability, and repair to lead through these moments with clarity, care, and responsibility.
