We Rise Together

We Rise Together

Christ Church CathedralVancouver, BC
Saturday, Mar 14 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Overview

Celtic songs of resilience and brotherhood. Men's voices united in the tradition that sustained miners, workers, and builders of new worlds.

Join the Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir (Music Director Alison Nixon, Pianist Miri Lee) for a stirring celebration of Celtic heritage and brotherhood at We Rise Together.

Let the power of male voice harmony transport you from the coal-darkened valleys of Wales to the untamed landscapes of Canada. Through beloved classics like "Sixteen Tons," "Working Man," "Northwest Passage," and "We Rise Again," experience the songs that sustained generations of working men who built new lives in unfamiliar lands.

This concert weaves together Welsh chapel hymns, mining town work songs, and timeless ballads that remind us: we are stronger together than we ever were apart. For 45 years, men from every background have gathered in this choir to carry forward a proud Welsh choral tradition—finding connection, purpose, and the courage to let their voices be heard.

Bring a friend, a neighbor, or family to share in an afternoon that honors where we came from and celebrates the diverse brotherhood we've become.

Event Details:

  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours with a 15-minute intermission
  • Seating: Unreserved – arrive early for your preferred spot

Experience the healing power of men's voices raised together. Whether you're familiar with Welsh choral tradition or discovering it for the first time, this evening of resilient, heartfelt music will move your spirit and remind you of music's enduring power to unite us all.
