Calling all future veterinarians!

CHS Summer Camp

Calgary Humane Society Summer Camp is a place where kids build meaningful connections with animals. Our goal is to create opportunities for children to interact with, learn about, and develop empathy for the animals that share our world.

Led by enthusiastic instructors, dedicated volunteers, and supported by our friendly animal ambassadors, each camp week offers an enriching experience filled with fun activities, creative crafts, and hands‑on learning. As campers explore and play, they also learn about respect, compassion, and the lifelong responsibility of caring for animals.

All activities are designed to be age‑appropriate and developmentally suitable. For campers who wish to attend multiple weeks, each week features a unique theme to ensure fresh and diverse experiences.

Throughout their time with us, campers will discover animal characteristics and behavior, learn proper pet care, and meet a variety of species, including bunnies, cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, and more!

Theme Description: So You Want to be a Vet? (Grade 7-9)

Does your child dream of becoming a veterinarian? Give them the chance to experience the world of animal care firsthand at our week‑long Vet Camp! Throughout the week, campers will explore the day‑to‑day life of veterinary professionals as they spend time alongside our veterinarians and animal health experts.

Campers will have the opportunity to observe real surgeries, shadow veterinary technicians during medical rounds, and gain hands‑on experience examining microscopic slides, reviewing x‑rays, and learning about common health concerns faced by our animals.

Along with these exciting educational activities, campers will enjoy interactive animal encounters and fun games that make this week both unforgettable and uniquely enriching.
