FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard User Training

Online event
Wednesday, Mar 18 from 1 pm to 2:30 pm MDT
Overview

Join our virtual training to strengthen wildfire preparedness and resilience with the FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard.

FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard User Training

The FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard is a simple, wildfire mitigation and preparedness self-assessment tool that provides Alberta communities with practical guidance to strengthen their resilience to wildland fire. The Scorecard helps communities understand voluntary, provincially recognized FireSmart best practices at each step of the community wildfire risk management cycle (assess risk, plan, implement, evaluate), identify their current level of wildfire preparedness in comparison to best practises, set realistic goals for improvement, and track wildfire resilience progress over time.

During this interactive 90-minute virtual training session Alberta community representatives will learn how to use a new, secure online platform to complete their annual FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard, submit optional case studies, and leverage their Scorecard report to access project funding, awards, and municipal insurance discounts.
