CHS Summer Camp: Feathers & Fiction (Grades 1-3) - July 27th - 31st
Calling all page‑turning adventurers and budding bookworms!
CHS Summer Camp
Calgary Humane Society Summer Camp is a place where kids build meaningful connections with animals. Our goal is to create opportunities for children to interact with, learn about, and develop empathy for the animals that share our world.
Led by enthusiastic instructors, dedicated volunteers, and supported by our friendly animal ambassadors, each camp week offers an enriching experience filled with fun activities, creative crafts, and hands‑on learning. As campers explore and play, they also learn about respect, compassion, and the lifelong responsibility of caring for animals.
All activities are designed to be age‑appropriate and developmentally suitable. For campers who wish to attend multiple weeks, each week features a unique theme to ensure fresh and diverse experiences.
Throughout their time with us, campers will discover animal characteristics and behavior, learn proper pet care, and meet a variety of species, including bunnies, cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, and more!
Theme Description: Feathers & Fiction (Grade 1-3)
This camp invites young book lovers to dive into the joys of reading while spending meaningful time with our shelter animals. Campers will explore animal‑themed stories, build their reading confidence, and discover how sharing books with animals can strengthen empathy and communication. Activities focus on bringing stories to life, exploring how animals appear in literature, and enjoying quiet reading sessions with our gentle shelter companions.
