Overview

Calling all curious campers ready to explore the world of whiskers and paws!

CHS Summer Camp

Calgary Humane Society Summer Camp is a place where kids build meaningful connections with animals. Our goal is to create opportunities for children to interact with, learn about, and develop empathy for the animals that share our world.

Led by enthusiastic instructors, dedicated volunteers, and supported by our friendly animal ambassadors, each camp week offers an enriching experience filled with fun activities, creative crafts, and hands‑on learning. As campers explore and play, they also learn about respect, compassion, and the lifelong responsibility of caring for animals.

All activities are designed to be age‑appropriate and developmentally suitable. For campers who wish to attend multiple weeks, each week features a unique theme to ensure fresh and diverse experiences.

Throughout their time with us, campers will discover animal characteristics and behavior, learn proper pet care, and meet a variety of species, including bunnies, cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, and more!

Theme Description: Feline Friends (Grade 4-6)

Join us for a unique summer camp experience—one dedicated entirely to our fantastic, furry feline friends! Throughout the week, campers will dive into fun and meaningful questions such as: Why do people choose cats as pets? What specific care do cats need? What should I consider before adopting? How can I prepare to welcome a cat into my home? What does it really cost to have a feline companion? And how can I help support cats in an animal shelter while they wait for their forever homes?

This camp is purr‑fect for aspiring cat owners and anyone who wants to better understand and care for cats. The week will be filled with visits from animal guests (including cats and other species), cat‑tastic enrichment toy‑building, and plenty more whisker‑friendly fun!
