CHS Summer Camp: Paws & Pixels (Grades 7-9) - August 10th - 14th
Calling all young creators, photographers, and animal media makers!
CHS Summer Camp
Calgary Humane Society Summer Camp is a place where kids build meaningful connections with animals. Our goal is to create opportunities for children to interact with, learn about, and develop empathy for the animals that share our world.
Led by enthusiastic instructors, dedicated volunteers, and supported by our friendly animal ambassadors, each camp week offers an enriching experience filled with fun activities, creative crafts, and hands‑on learning. As campers explore and play, they also learn about respect, compassion, and the lifelong responsibility of caring for animals.
All activities are designed to be age‑appropriate and developmentally suitable. For campers who wish to attend multiple weeks, each week features a unique theme to ensure fresh and diverse experiences.
Throughout their time with us, campers will discover animal characteristics and behavior, learn proper pet care, and meet a variety of species, including bunnies, cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, and more!
Theme Description: Paws & Pixels (Grade 7-9)
Step behind the camera and into the world of animal‑inspired storytelling! This dynamic camp invites young creators to explore the exciting realms of communications, photography, videography, and digital media—all while working alongside the incredible animals at our shelter. Campers will learn how to capture compelling photos, film heartwarming videos, design eye‑catching graphics, and craft meaningful stories that help animals shine.
With hands‑on media projects, behind‑the‑scenes access to animal care spaces, and plenty of time getting to know our furry (and not‑so‑furry) friends, this camp offers a one‑of‑a‑kind blend of creativity and compassion. Perfect for budding media makers who want to make a difference—one snapshot, story, or video at a time!
