CHS Summer Camp

Calgary Humane Society Summer Camp is a place where kids build meaningful connections with animals. Our goal is to create opportunities for children to interact with, learn about, and develop empathy for the animals that share our world.

Led by enthusiastic instructors, dedicated volunteers, and supported by our friendly animal ambassadors, each camp week offers an enriching experience filled with fun activities, creative crafts, and hands‑on learning. As campers explore and play, they also learn about respect, compassion, and the lifelong responsibility of caring for animals.

All activities are designed to be age‑appropriate and developmentally suitable. For campers who wish to attend multiple weeks, each week features a unique theme to ensure fresh and diverse experiences.

Throughout their time with us, campers will discover animal characteristics and behavior, learn proper pet care, and meet a variety of species, including bunnies, cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, and more!

Theme Description: Pets 101 (Grade 4-6)

Everything you’ve ever wondered about having a pet—answered! Which animals make great companions? What kind of care do they really need? And will this adorable puppy actually stay this tiny forever? Campers will dive into all these questions and plenty more as they explore the world of responsible pet ownership.

This camp is perfect for kids who are eager to take on the responsibilities of having a pet—or for those who just need a little more information before making the leap!
