The Pinch Cabaret is KW’s monthly variety show, performance laboratory, and community arts party. An unexpected mix of Breakdancing, Improvised Music, Sketch Comedy, Singer-Songwriters, Zines &amp; who knows what else!Hosted and curated by handsome grandson <a href="https://bengorodetsky.com/" title="https://bengorodetsky.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ben Gorodetsky</a>. Get ready for a diverse bill that'll surprise audiences and bring together disparate artistic communities!Featuring:<ul><li><a href="https://www.instagram.com/nuh__uh/" title="https://www.instagram.com/nuh__uh/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nuha Yousuf</a> is an multidisciplinary artist, musical improviser, creator and instapot queen. Recent highlights include performing her NUMUS 2025 winning curation, Of Mothers and Daughters, Assistant Directing Tapestry Opera’s Briefs, and partnering with Conservation Halton to create a site-specific chamber piece at Crawford Lake. Nuha will be performing a live scored musical improv piece with Voice and piano, based on poetry she has never seen before.</li><li>Established in 2022, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kwbreakers/" title="https://www.instagram.com/kwbreakers/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KW Breakers (KWB)</a> is a super crew of the top breakers, in and around the Kitchener-Waterloo region. Each member specializes in their own unique breaking styles, techniques, and movements. KWB performs, competes, teaches, and hosts breaking events. Their mission is to share their passion for the artistry, athleticism, culture, and history of breaking with the community, and cultivate KW’s breaking scene.</li><li><a href="https://linktr.ee/bronwenolson?utm_source=ig&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_content=link_in_bio" title="https://linktr.ee/bronwenolson?utm_source=ig&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_content=link_in_bio" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bronwen Olson</a> is a poet, folk singer-songwriter, and deep-feeler from Guelph, ON. While she’s still writing behind the scenes, this past year she’s been pouring her energy into singing in a women’s choir called the Choir Wrens. Rather than another solo set, she’s inviting you into the nest - where wrens gather, voices weave, and the creative spirit comes alive in relationship. The Wrens will sing a few songs around the fire, sharing with you the warmth and simple goodness of singing in the sun room on Metcalfe Street.</li><li>*~*SYSTEM ALERT*~ * Master of Mashups. Chaos engineer, digital trickster, he turns “because you liked this” into a rabbit hole you can’t escape. Hybrid hitmaker. AlgoRhythm is a mashup artist and digital performer known for blending unexpected elements and genres into high-energy, unpredictable sets that surprise audiences and disrupt expectations.</li><li><a href="https://www.instagram.com/anat.hector" title="https://www.instagram.com/anat.hector" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Anat</a> is a dynamic musician celebrated for her vibrant personality and deeply emotional performances, captivating audiences from the very first note. As a skilled pianist and singer, her original songs weave stories of hope, and the shadows we navigate in life. For this performance, Anat will bring her solo vibe to her original songs on piano.</li><li>And for the Pinch Zine Series, this month we’ll release “Untangled” by Cassidy Hicks. Cassidy (she/they) is a therapist, textile artist, and playwright living in the Willow River Watershed. She loves to talk about feelings, and make things with words, thread, and theatre. They are the creator and former host of experimental variety show <a href="https://edifyedmonton.com/culture/performing-arts/an-artistic-buffet/" title="https://edifyedmonton.com/culture/performing-arts/an-artistic-buffet/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dirt Buffet Cabaret</a>, and former technical director at NYC burlesque theatre <a href="https://duaneparknyc.com/" title="https://duaneparknyc.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Duane Park</a>. His performance work has been presented by The Art Gallery of Ontario, CAFKA, Femme Folks Fest, LUMEN, Open Ears, Movement Research at Judson Church, The Tank NYC, Mile Zero Dance, Guelph Dance Festival, Hillside Fest, Brian Webb Dance Company, Expanse Festival of Movement Arts, Rubaboo Festival, SpringWorks, and the Gas Station Arts Centre. They are the former Associate Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre and have performed, taught, and directed improvisation in Atlanta, Detroit, Austin, Philadelphia, NYC, LA, Reunion Island, Vienna, Ljubljana, Montreal, Toronto, Yellowknife, Calgary, and Vancouver. He is co-creator of political satire comedy duo Folk Lordz (VICE). Ben is the winner of the 2016 Emerging Artist Award at the Mayor's Celebration for the Arts (Edmonton), the Anna Pidruchney Young Writers award, and a nominee for a Canadian Comedy Award and a Waterloo Region Arts Award. He is Creator and Executive Producer of CTV docuseries "MY PET ATE WHAT?", out now on Crave.
