Explore why local farmers are planting trees and gain practical tips from conservation specialists for your own projects. Lunch provided.

Access grants for on-farm tree planting projects.

You are invited to explore tree planting on farms and available grants. Register to join us on April 9th from 10am to noon at the Lucknow Legion.

Hosted by: Maitland Conservation, Saugeen Conservation, and Pine River Watershed Initiative Network

Through farmer-led sessions, discover how local farmers are planting trees to build resilient farms.

Guest speakers include:

  • Christine MacIntyre, Rail Line Farms - windbreaks along pastureland
  • Kate Procter, Bodmin Farms Ltd - reforesting marginal land & wetland creation.

Engage with conservation specialists to understand:

  • the benefits of tree plantings on and around farmland
  • how present organizations can support project planning and coordination
  • how to qualify for funding opportunities with up to 100% coverage

Connect one-on-one with your conservation authority representative(s) and the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network following presentations with a light lunch.

Be sure to register by March 31st so we can plan accordingly for catering.
