TELL! Us On World Theatre Day!

We’re celebrating World Theatre Day at the Registry Theatre.

The weather is warming up, and spring is in the air. This edition of TELL!, we’re celebrating World Theatre Day at the Registry Theatre.

Starting back in 1962, World Theatre Day is observed every March 27th, highlighting the universal value of theatre across the international community. Come join us for a spring potluck and our open mic as we celebrate theatre in all its forms and styles.

About TELL!

TELL! is MT Space's coffeehouse open-mic style event offering the community an artistic platform to share their works in a casual setting. Whether it’s performances, stories, poetry, or art, we welcome all forms of expression.

We know that art and food bring people together like nothing else. Join us for a potluck! Bring a dish* to share if you can. We'll take care of the plates, napkins and drinks (juice boxes and water). To cut down on waste, please bring your own reusable cups and bottles!

*Please include an ingredients list for any dishes you bring.

Families with small children are also welcomed.

Thinking of performing?* Here's what you need to know:
TELL! is a platform that offers you time and space to share something that you've created, or something you've been working on, like:

• an idea
• a script
• story
• song
• something else!

This event is low/no tech. Bring anything you may need for your performance, including amps for instruments. Use this as an opportunity to get feedback from an engaged audience or simply show us what you've got!

Be advised that photographs and video may be taken for use on MT Space web/print materials and shared on social media accounts. By attending this event, you consent to being photographed and/or filmed. Parking at the Registry Theatre

The theatre has a small laneway for a few vehicles, mainly for personnel, artists, and renters. On weekends and weekday evenings after 5PM, the parking lot for the Region of Waterloo building next door (the one with the entrance bars) usually becomes an open lot – we advise parking there if there is space.

The bars do lower at 11PM; any cars can still exit by driving slowly toward the bars (they will rise). Free street parking can be found down Spetz and Scott streets across the road from The Registry. Paid parking is available across the street, underground at the KPL – Main Branch, and the parking garage on Duke St (the last two are free on Sundays).

Transit

Grand River Transit’s routes 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 20, 204, and the ION all have stops within a block or two of the theatre. GO Transit route 30 also stops within a block of the theatre.

Accessibility

Patrons with difficulty navigating stairs can access the theatre via an elevator at the side of the building, to the right as you face it. While there is a call button, we recommend emailing us beforehand so we can be prepared for your arrival.
