Hip Fracture Quality Standard: What Caregivers Should Know
Join Ontario Health to discuss what high-quality care for hip fracture looks like and what you can do to support your care recipient.
As a caregiver, understanding how you can help your care recipient following a hip fracture can improve their chances of making a full recovery and help avoid more serious risks, including losing their mobility, independence, or further declines in health.
In the hours and days following a hip fracture, caregivers can play a key role in advocating for their care recipient as they move from the emergency department to their post-operative recovery. They can also work with the health care team to screen for and manage delirium, assist with daily mobilization, and take steps to help their care recipient avoid future bone fractures.
The first step is knowing what high-quality care for hip fracture looks like and what you can do to support your care recipient.
The Ontario Caregiver Organization invites you to join our webinar to learn about:
- Ontario Health’s updated Hip Fracture quality standard and opportunities to improve care for people with hip fracture
- Information, tools, and resources to support and help your care recipient following a hip fracture
- Questions to discuss with your care recipient’s health care team
- Stories from caregivers who have provided care and support to people with hip fracture
Our Speaker: Dana Summers Laframboise is a Senior Specialist, Quality Improvement in Ontario Health’s Clinical and Quality Standards program. Having dedicated nearly fourteen years to Ontario Health, she has contributed to the development, refinement and implementation of quality standards across various health conditions, most recently leading the development of the Hip Fracture Care Implementation Toolkit and supporting execution of the provincial hip fracture improvement strategy.
