Community Nature Nights are free, open invitation workshops intended to inspire curiosity, learning, and connection.

Spend an evening crafting with plant fibres Join Jodie, Outdoor School Program Manager, as we spend an evening crafting with various plant fibres. Spring is a great time to work with fibres collected over the past year and to begin noticing what’s emerging in the growing season ahead. From tree bark to perennial plant leaves, we’ll make cordage with three or more local plants and learn how to create a simple coil basket. We’ll also explore different ways to use cordage, including weaving, journal making, and small projects like keychains or zipper pulls. Consider this an evening of play and instruction with plant fibres. We’ll chat about the plants themselves, demonstrate a few techniques, and leave time to create. All experience levels are welcome. Materials will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own fibres and sewing needles if you have them. *We'll be meeting at our office location: 276 Carlaw Ave, UNIT 302 (Toronto). There is access to a washroom and drinking water. Feel welcome to bring your own nut-free snacks.Pine's Community Nature Nights are free, open invitation workshops intended to inspire curiosity, learning, and connection. Each month, experienced mentors create a space for community members to grow their naturalist knowledge, tackle new outdoor skills, and explore mentoring techniques that support nature connection. Gatherings vary in theme and location (in-person and online) to create opportunities for more people to engage in nature connection. While gatherings are geared towards adults, all ages who feel able to respectfully engage with a given theme are welcome (those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). Join us to learn, laugh, and build connections with our human and more-than-human community!
