<h2><strong><strong>About this series</strong></strong></h2><p>This three-part, in-person workshop series is designed to support workplaces with stronger, more effective intercultural teams that are supported by inclusive and welcoming workplace practices.</p><p>Through a stepped learning approach, participants will build knowledge, skills, and confidence over time, with opportunities to reflect, apply learning between sessions, and return with questions.</p><p><strong><strong>This is a three-part series delivered over three months.</strong></strong><br>Employer participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to gain the full benefit of the program; newcomer employees are also welcome to attend the final session in June.</p><h3><strong><strong>Series Schedule</strong></strong></h3><p>This is a three-part series delivered over three months. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions:</p><ul><li><strong><strong>Session 1:</strong></strong> April 30, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM</li><li><strong><strong>Session 2:</strong></strong> May 25, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM</li><li><strong><strong>Session 3:</strong></strong> June 16, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Deadline to register Monday, June 8)</li></ul><h2><strong><strong>Session 1 of 3: Building Belonging in Organizations</strong></strong></h2><p>This session for employers explores what belonging is, why a strong sense of belonging is important, and what fosters belonging in workplaces.</p><p>Through engaging with belonging research, assessing case studies, and reflecting in small group activities, participants will explore the factors that contribute to stronger team performance, productivity, and retention.</p><h2><br></h2><h3><strong><strong>Session 2 of 3: Introduction to Cultural Difference in the Workplace</strong></strong></h3><p>This session provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively in culturally diverse workplaces.</p><p>Participants will explore their own cultural perspectives, discover common cultural differences, and examine what is both respectful and effective when working across cultures.</p><h3><strong><strong>Session 3 of 3: Exploring Culture and Conflict Resolution</strong></strong></h3><p>This session <strong><strong>for employers—and their newcomer employees</strong></strong>—offers an opportunity to identify individual conflict styles, understand the strengths and limitations of each, and explore how these styles influence workplace interactions.</p><p>By bringing employers and employees together, this session supports shared understanding.</p><h2><strong><strong>Series Details</strong></strong></h2><ul><li>Format: In-person, half-day workshops</li><li>Schedule: One session per month (April, May, June)</li><li>Location: Pictou County Wellness Centre</li><li>Capacity: Space is limited to maintain a small-group, interactive experience. We encourage early registration.</li></ul><h2><strong><strong>Facilitator</strong></strong></h2><p>This series is delivered in partnership with <strong><strong>Willow Anderson</strong></strong> of Social Fabric Institute Inc.</p><p>Willow's PhD dissertation focused on the cultural adaptation experiences of immigrants in rural communities and she has delivered diversity and equity-focused training to over 1,000 participants across Canada. She brings extensive experience working with employers, community organizations, and immigration-focused initiatives across Atlantic Canada.</p><h2><br></h2>
