Raising Kids, Raising Awareness: A Farm Safety Discussion

Raising Kids, Raising Awareness: A Farm Safety Discussion

Online event
Thursday, May 14  •  12 PM - 1 PM CDT
Overview

Join CASA as we welcome Kaitlyn Lawes, Olympic curling gold medalist, for a discussion on balancing it all- career, farming, and safety.

In celebration of CASA’s third annual Kids FarmSafe Week (May 11–17, 2026), this session highlights the importance of keeping children safe in agricultural environments as more families build their lives around farming.

Join CASA as we welcome Kaitlyn Lawes, Olympic gold medalist and now farm mom, as she shares her experience raising young children in a rural setting where home and work are closely connected. After competing all over the globe at the highest level of sport, she brings a unique perspective to the shift into farm life, motherhood, and trying to balance it all. This session will be moderated by BASF, presenting sponsor of Kids FarmSafe Week.

Grounded in lived experience, this session will explore the mental load carried by farm families, the constant awareness required to keep children safe, and the importance of creating environments where both families and farms can thrive.
