Speakers:

Jake Ayre is a producer at Southern Seed Ltd., and vice president of Keystone Agricultural Producers. In 2022, Jake and his family immigrated to Manitoba from a farm in the southwest of England. Today, the Ayres continue the tradition of multi-generational farming at Southern Seed Ltd., a family-owned and operated pedigreed seed farm and retail business near Minto, Manitoba.

Andrew Doerksen is a partner at Beaver Creek Farms Ltd., a family owned, third-generation potato and grain farm located near MacGregor, Manitoba. Beaver Creek Farms Ltd. has participated in MPSG’s On Farm Research Network program for several years. and has seen great value in learning through on-farm research with a variety of crops and trials.

Hailey Jefferies is the co-founder and president of Prairie Fava, a Glenboro, Manitoba-based agri-food company pioneering the fava bean value chain in North America. Prairie Fava contracts with farmers across the Canadian Prairies and processes those beans into high-quality ingredients for food makers and processors across North America and Asia. Hailey is dedicated to driving fava bean adoption with food makers and strengthening the value chain, from seed to shelf, to support better health and sustainability outcomes from grower to consumer.
