Intensive Review Course: Public Health for the MCCQE
Join Dr. Santos and Dr. Malenfant for this 4h intensive content review course on the most important topics in Public Health for the QE!
Join Dr. Filipe Nadir Caparica Santos (MD, PhD, MScCH, FRCPC) and Dr. Jason Malenfant (MD, MPH) for a 4-hour live session on Zoom (with a 30-minute break) designed to help you understand and master Public Health for the MCCQE.
This is not a resource roundup or a session about where to study from. This is a content review course. Together, we will work through the highest-yield public health topics tested on the MCCQE, explain the concepts in a way you will actually grasp, and show you how to think through the questions the way the exam expects. You will also learn the most common mistakes IMGs make on public health questions and how to avoid them.
Topics covered include how public health is tested on the MCCQE, study design, interpreting diagnostic tests, preventive medicine and screening principles, health behaviour change models, infection prevention and control, and more.
Dr. Malenfant is a quadruple U.S. board-certified physician and is licensed in three specialties in Ontario, including Public Health and Preventive Medicine. He currently works as a Medical Officer of Health in Ontario and will provide key insights into the highest-yield public health topics most frequently tested on the MCCQE.
Dr. Santos is an anesthesiologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. He is a clinician educator and holds a Master in Health Practitioner Teacher Education from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. He previously served as Special Advisor on International Medical Graduate Affairs at the Medical Council of Canada.
This session is built for International Medical Graduates and medical students preparing for the MCCQE (formerly the QE1) who want to walk into the exam confident in public health, not guessing.
