Framed Beach Glass Washing Line - by Emma Inkpen

Join us for a summer's afternoon, to make a framed beach glass washing line.

The harmony of pegging freshly washed sheets with the birds chirping, the sight of a washing line flapping in a summer breeze, and the scent of line dried clothing, all these things captured in this handmade framed artwork.

Doors open 15 minutes before the workshop begins at 12:30pm.
Workshop Length: aprox 1.5 hours

Made with found beach glass and driftwood, which is provided for you to select from, you will be guided through the process to make your own individual washing line piece, to take home or gift to someone dear.

Beach glass is naturally polished and weathered glass found on beachs - consisting of fragments of human made glass which has been tumbled in the waves until it becomes something halfway between made and grown, an echo of an object polished by nature until it becomes something special, something one of a kind.

And that's just the starting point of a project that you get to make your own.

The workshop is an hour and a half and there will be a pause for a freshly brewed cup of tea, and baked cookies from Annina's bakery - which is located just across the street from our store.

We encourage you to make an afternoon of it by having a lovely lunch at Annina's restaurant before or after the workshop! (not included in the workshop fee)

About the Artist: Emma Inkpen is an experienced and multi-talented multimedia artist, owns Inkpen Studios, and is a Goodwood Mercantile staff member. She has produced many different art and graphic art projects, some of which you will see for sale in our store! (Including her local maps, wood prints and more.)
