Discover the working-class stories of Edmontonians who’ve built our city through this downtown walking tour. You'll learn about:
- Indigenous labour history and the pemmican industry
- Women workers at the Great Western Garment factory
- Immigrant contributions to city infrastructure
- Key strikes and protests, including the amusing 1947 Chocolate Bar Strike
You’ll also get a taste of modern pemmican, see where Edmontonians have worked throughout the river valley, and get to make your own protest signs!
