ECAMP Curiosity Walking Tours - Strikes, Struggles and Success

ECAMP Curiosity Walking Tours - Strikes, Struggles and Success

Overview

Join the Edmonton City as Museum for two immersive walking experiences this summer! Our Curiosity Tours bring Edmonton's past to life.

Strikes, Struggles and Success

Discover the working-class stories of Edmontonians who’ve built our city through this downtown walking tour. You'll learn about:

  • Indigenous labour history and the pemmican industry
  • Women workers at the Great Western Garment factory
  • Immigrant contributions to city infrastructure
  • Key strikes and protests, including the amusing 1947 Chocolate Bar Strike

You’ll also get a taste of modern pemmican, see where Edmontonians have worked throughout the river valley, and get to make your own protest signs!
