Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Level II Formation Course - PART B

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Level II Formation Course - PART B

Corpus Christi ChurchToronto, ON
Overview

The 2nd Part of this Level II CGS formation course completes your preparation as a CGS catechist for 6 - 9 year old children.

The Level II CGS Formation Course offers an orientation to the spiritual and developmental needs and capacities of the 6-9 year old child. It introduces the foundational biblical and liturgical themes that we present to these children, through a combination of conversation, reflection and presentation -- these delivered as we would share them with children. The course also offers opportunities to work with Montessori-style, catechetical materials that have been designed to nurture children’s prayer.

This 97+ hour course is especially designed for Level I catechists who are interested in serving in a Level II atrium, catechists who offer preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, for Grade 1 - Grade 3 teachers, for parents, and for grandparents.

The course is open to all who have already completed the Level I Foundations Course. It is a prerequisite for further adult formation courses in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Certificate Program (Level III).

This registration is for Part B of the Level II course. The CGSAC standard tuition of $400 for members or $490 for non-members has been underwritten to $200, made possible through the generosity of the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Both Part A and Part B must be completed for certification as a CGS Catechist for 6-9 year old children.
