TFS Presents: Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps (1935)
Join us for our June screening! Our fabulous pre-show begins at 7:15 and the programme begins at 7:30.
Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps is fast, witty, and full of suspense. Released in 1935, this classic thriller follows Canadian Richard Hannay (Robert Donat), an ordinary man who becomes caught up in a dangerous web of spies, secrets, and mistaken identity after a chance encounter pulls him into an international conspiracy!
With its mix of intrigue, humour, romance, and Hitchcock’s unmistakable flair for tension, The 39 Steps helped define the “wrong man” thriller and remains one of the director’s most entertaining early films. Over 90 years later, it still moves with terrific energy and reminds us why Hitchcock became known as the master of suspense.
