Art As Ritual - Mark Making (ONLINE)

SHAUNA KAENDO| BFA, RCAT |Art therapist in Victoria BC (unceded /stolen traditional and ancestral territories of the Lekwungen/Songhees & Esquimalt peoples).CREATIVITY BEGINS BEFORE WE HAVE ART MATERIALS IN OUR HANDS. It begins with personal and collective agency, with the decision(s) that we make to seek community, support, and space. It feels important to describe and recognize creativity as more than an art-related process, but also a way that we can live, imagine, understand, and create change in our lives.

HEY SHAUNA ART THERAPY

This is a 2-hour (online) therapeutic art-making workshop.

In this workshop we will be chatting about art making (and mark making) as creative ritual - and working specifically with materials that respond to water. We'll frame our material play in understanding and approaching art-making as a creative care practice ...and creative ritual. Practices that we repeat, and build into our daily lives ...and creativity that FEELS nourishing. We'll take some space to gather and ground ourselves, together, in community.NO experience with art or art-making is required to attend.__________________________ART AS RITUAL - MARK MAKINGSun Aug 98-10am PT, Pacific Time (<a href="https://dateful.com/time-zone-converter?t=8am&amp;d=2026-08-09&amp;tz2=PST-PDT-Pacific-Time" title="https://dateful.com/time-zone-converter?t=8am&amp;d=2026-08-09&amp;tz2=PST-PDT-Pacific-Time" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">time zone converter</a>)Sliding scale registration options__________________________<h3>LOCATION:</h3>This is an online (Zoom) event.See <a href="https://www.eventbrite.ca/o/hey-shauna-art-therapy-16634504104" title="https://www.eventbrite.ca/o/hey-shauna-art-therapy-16634504104" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">my other offerings</a>.__________________________<h3>MATERIALS LIST:</h3><ul><li>Paper (ideally mixed media and/or watercolour paper, but bring whatever you have!).
